This age-old tool, which originated in the 1500s, is used to create luxurious double-knit fabric that can be stitched into sweaters, shawls, ponchos and more. Made of solid maple or oak and waxed to a gorgeous finish, this 28"-long board has 84 needles, and will knit approximately 30"-wide material. Spacers come in three sizes that allow you to adjust the size of the stitches, and therefore the gauge. This functional, yet beautiful board, is made of high-quality materials that will last a lifetime and comes with a knitting hook, written instructions and two patterns. The additional 25-minute DVD will teach you the basics for getting started on your knitting board, including how to cast on, stockinette stitch, bind off (two versions), increase and decrease, and sew the pieces together.
